Three Months with OWEN Education- Q&A with Kwebina Charles Acquah
Kwebina is from Dublin, Ireland currently living in Chongqing, China. He graduated from Technological University Dublin with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science International. He has been teaching at OWEN for three months. Learn about his transition to life in Chongqing.
What is your favorite part about being a teacher at OWEN Education?
The enthusiasm and atmosphere of teaching shown by my fellow teachers and their willingness to help one another with effective training and share their experiences when teaching.
How was your transition to life in Chongqing?
The beginning was somewhat rocky but now adjusted to the way of living and slowly getting used to the dialect.
What is something that has surprised you about living in Chongqing?
The heat does not only come from the sun, but the thick air contributes to the hot weather.
What advice would you give to those who are contemplating teaching in China?
It's a life changing experience that is worth taking as it opens your mind to new ways of thinking and experience the wonderful culture of these amazing people.
What is your favorite food in China?
What is something you do for fun in Chongqing?
I enjoy playing sports such as soccer and basketball, I also enjoy touring around the city whenever I'm able to.
Have you done any traveling since being in China?
Only been around the popular tourist locations in Chongqing so far, looking forward to visiting Chengdu in the near future and many more provinces in China.
